How to weed out the scammers

The best way to weed out the scammers immediately...
1. They call you dear right off the bat. Hello dear.
2. They use weird phrasing, such as, "Hello, I am John by name and what are you looking for on this site?" Two things here. Who in the world says, "I'm John by name?" What else would he be John by? By telephone pole? And also, the weird way of just splicing two sentences together using "and." They do this all the time. Another variation, "Hello dear and what are you looking for on this site?"
3. They immediately or very quickly after starting a chat with you want you to move to email or texting with your cell phone. Or they want you to install some other texting software. If they really want to talk with you, they can talk right there on the dating site until you feel safe enough to give them your phone number. You should always check them out first too. If they want your phone number, ask for theirs first and then run it through a background check program to make sure it's real. I do this all the time. If they are real people, they won't object. Also, Google the heck out of them. Ask for a first and last name and google to see if they are real and if their story matches up. If they tell you where they work, google that to see if the business even exists.
4. They want to immediately leap into a relationship with you without even knowing anything about you.
5. They constantly ask if you are looking forward to getting married again.
6. They use flowy and romantic language to draw you in and make them seem like the perfect man. No man is that perfect.

7. They are often widowed or working overseas on some peace keeping mission and will eventually need money because of some emergency that has suddenly arisen. Don't give them money!!

8. Their employment or work story doesn't check out or makes no sense.

I'll add more as I think of them.

About this Blog

Hello!
Welcome to my blog.  I've been on several online dating sites for a month or so now and I've had my share of conversations with scammers and guys who just want me to send nude pictures of myself to them and want nothing more beyond that.  And, of course, I've had my share of unsolicited dick pictures sent to me. I've created this blog to share these conversations and stories.  All names will be changed to protect people's privacy, as I'm not out to ruin anyone's reputation.

Please Note: I have met some VERY nice people on these dating apps and websites too, so not everyone out there is a scumbag (You awesome guys know who you are!). However, this page is specifically about the scumbags.
